The vehicle travelling West bound attempted to turn left onto New St. and as he did he was struck by the second vehicle that was travelling East bound. Both vehicles received heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. The operator and sole occupant of the second vehicle was transported from the scene by the Rehoboth ambulance with unknown injuries. After further investigation, the second operator 65 year old James Silva of Rehoboth was arrested and charged with: Operating under the influence of liquor, Negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to yield the right of way at an intersection. He was booked and later released on personal recognizance. He is due in Taunton District Court on Monday to be arraigned on the charges.
