On 03/16/2016 at approximately 2331 hrs Officer Nicholas Barros and Officer Craig Forget of the Rehoboth Police Department were dispatched to the area of 34 Miller St. for a vehicle off of the roadway. Upon arrival Officers determined that the vehicle had failed to negotiate a sharp turn and crashed through a fence ending up stuck in a muddy pasture. Officers identified the operator as, Paul Lakota, 22 years old of Rehoboth. Lakota was in the process of trying to free his vehicle from the mud. As they spoke with Lakota Officers detected an odor of intoxicating liquor and observed other signs of impairment. After further investigation including field sobriety tests, Lakota was taken into custody and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. . Lakota was booked and later transferred to the Bristol County Sheriffs Office Ash St. Jail and will be arraigned on 03/16/2016 at Taunton District Court.
