Rehoboth Police Investigate Vehicle Damage

The Rehoboth Police Department is looking into a series of  incidents that occurred to today between 11:25 and 11:45.  Several vehicles had their windshields damaged due to what may be a small rock or a BB Gun. One witness stated that there was a small sports car in the area of Moulton St. and Brook St. at the time of one of the events. Rehoboth Police Partners with CVS to Combat Drug Abuse

The Rehoboth Police Department has been awarded a grant from CVS/pharmacy to combat drug abuse by installing a drug collection unit. The new unit will provide residents with a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of unwanted or expired medication, including controlled substances. The unit will be located inside the police station lobby at 334 Anawan St. and is open 24/7. Drugs can be dropped off with no questions asked. Suspicious Person Identified

On 01/20/2016, at approximately 1017 hrs. members of the Rehoboth Police Department were able to positively identify the male subject in the security surveillance video from 132 Fairview Ave.

The identified person stated that he was going to a friend’s home in the area.  The Rehoboth Police Department would like to thank you for your assistance in identifying this person.

Rehoboth Police Warn Residents of House Breaks

The Rehoboth Police Department would like to continue to warn residents that the house breaks in Town are continuing.  Fifteen house breaks and/or attempted breaks have occurred throughout Town in the past month.  A majority of the break-ins have occurred during the daytime hours and the suspect(s) are targeting jewelry and electronics including computers and TV’s. The Rehoboth Police ask that residents remain vigilant and report any suspicious person(s) or activity to the police immediately. Residents should also  secure their homes and vehicles when left unattended and utilize an alarm system if available.  Anyone with possible information regarding these recent incidents can contact Sgt. Rehoboth police launch info service

The Rehoboth Police Department has launched a new community information service, by nixle.com, designed to deliver timely public safety information to residents. The Nixle service sends notifications instantly by cell phone, text message, e-mail and Web. There is no spam or advertising. Nixle is available at no cost, although standard text message rates apply. Residents can register and learn more at nixle.com. Contact police headquarters at 508-222-3722 with any questions.

In addition, the police department is accepting applications for its second Citizens Police Academy. Citizens will receive instruction from members of the Rehoboth Police Department on topics such as patrol operations, investigations and crime scene processing, use of force and police weapons.

The program will culminate with a ride in a cruiser. It’s free to anyone interested in participating, ages 16 and older. Those interested should obtain an application at police headquarters, at 334 Anawan St. Classes will run Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 10-May 26.
